It IS what the X4 thinks it to be.ĮXAMPLE: Early on, I would charge the battery and then hook up the X4. I discovered that it is NOT what you measure the truck voltage to be. The single most reason for an X4 glitch is low system voltage. If you or anyone is really interested, I will take the time to take pics of the pages in the program. (My mind and fingers are tired)Ī womans mind and other complicated things. There are lots more things I have learned and will try to keep this thread up to date. So it is easy to stop and set things right again. It tells what was changed, the beginning value, the new value and is in chronological order. If at any time something changes without you noticing, or you discover the change was wrong, lower right on a tab is "HISTORY". UNLESS you check the box in front of it at the far left. You can change anything, but it will not stay, but default back to original. On the right half of the screen is the item you chose with a short description, graph or other info, on tabs at the bottom right. By clicking on an item will open up another item and so forth. The left hand column is alphabetical, top to bottom. Immediately save that virgin tune under a name of your choosing. So, when you told it your PCM code, it opened up a base tune for that processor. (Because you are not a Dealer, with dealer training or permission to work on more than one vehicle due to fees and more training.) It's a control thing.LOL It remembers your choice and if you type in another choice, like your PCM strategy like MRAD2K3, it will throw a fit and lock up the whole thing and tell you that "your Dongle has went bad and to call SCT". The first time you need to tell it, like mine was CUX1. When it opens, a pop up window wants to know the PCM code of what you are working on. When they returned it, it was in a CEF format so I could put it back in my X4.Īdvantage 3 is in a simple if puzzling form. SCT DOES have a way of opening BEF format and examining it. Meaning none talk to each other.or opens other files. When you pull a copy of your factory calibrationįrom your PCM, it is in a BEF file. Advantage 3 deals in a MTF, MTU, SUL, and a ZCF file. Things I have learned so far: A Datalog file retrieves in a DLG format. I did the same for the LiveLink Datalogging software help files, on my Ipad.Īll this alone makes getting a notebook of some kind manditory. The LaSota book came in electronic form to begin with and is also on my Ipad. I pulled up each page and took a pic with my Ipad. The "Help" files in Advantage have good information. I also bought the LaSota book on tuning with SCT. I dissed SCT when the lame X4 glitched on me and killed my factory calibration, So I thought I might speak when something goes good.
